TERROIR PROFILE
Dealurile Buzăului
Dealurile Buzăului – Continental
Râmnicu Sărat, Zărnești and Cernătești: the transition from Moldavia to Dealu Mare, whites and reds from the Buzău hills.
Climate, site & wine
Loam and clay soils hold water well and give rounder, softer wines than the lighter soils of the plain. The hill setting preserves freshness at night.
Fetească Regală and Riesling Italico give dry to off-dry whites with apple and citrus notes, Fetească Neagră and Merlot medium-bodied reds with dark fruit. The vineyards lie in the Râmnic hills around the centres of Râmnicu Sărat, Zărnești and Cernătești.
