Climate, site & wine
Layers of gravel and pebbles with red-brown soils warm up quickly and drain well, favouring dark, ripe red wines. Fruit ripeness is high, acidity moderate. The warm position on the southern edge of Vrancea lets late-ripening varieties such as Fetească Neagră and Cabernet Sauvignon ripen well.
Fetească Neagră, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon produce reds with dark fruit, soft to medium tannin and medium to full body. Fetească Regală contributes simple, fruity whites.
