Climate, site & wine
The soils are regarded as particularly fertile: chernozem, grey and brown soils favour medium body and delicate aromatics. Odobești belongs to Vrancea, the largest wine-growing county in Romania by area; the long winegrowing tradition is reflected in local varieties such as Galbenă de Odobești.
Galbenă de Odobești is a traditional white variety, alongside Fetească Albă, Fetească Regală, Riesling Italico and Plăvaie. The wines are mostly dry to off-dry, with apple and blossom aromas, and light to medium-bodied.

Continental climate on the slopes of the Vrancea Subcarpathians with warm summers and cold winters, influenced by cold air masses from the east. Ripening takes place in September.
TOPOGRAPHY · moderate
Undulating hill country between the Putna valley in the north and the Milcov valley in the south around Odobești, Jariștea and Bolotești. Elevations range from about 100 to 300 m; vines grow on slopes and terraces, mostly facing east to south-east.
