Wine Character

The Heilbronner Land is the largest wine district of Württemberg and is grouped around the city of Heilbronn in the Neckar valley and the hills of Weinsberg, Löwenstein and Heuchelberg. The vineyard slopes stand on Keuper soils, with Muschelkalk and loess loam also present. The climate is mild and fairly dry; the Neckar valley and the ridges give shelter from wind. Red varieties account for a high share, and the vineyards often lie on slopes above the river, where warmth and light are well used.
