TERROIR PROFILE
Entre-Deux-Mers
Fresh white zone between the rivers
Entre-Deux-Mers: Bordeaux's freshness zone — Sauvignon made for oysters.
Climate, site & wine
Clay and clay-limestone soils with varying gravel content predominate, with more sand and gravel in the west and a lime-rich plateau in the centre. Limestone soils preserve freshness, clay soils give fullness. Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon are the main varieties of the white blend, complemented by Muscadelle; Merlot dominates the reds.
The whites are fresh and dry, with citrus, gooseberry and green herbs, light in body and meant for early drinking. Reds from the area generally carry the Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur appellations.

SOILS
Limestoneprecise, mineral
Limestone delivers tension, structure and a cooler, more mineral character.
Loambody-rich, velvety
Loamy soils give wines volume and a soft, velvety mouthfeel.
Gravel / Sandlight, approachable
Gravel and sand drain heavily — vines struggle for water, wines turn fine, light and elegant.
CLIMATE · Maritime
Oceanic climate between the Garonne and the Dordogne, open and well aired. Both rivers moderate temperature extremes, and the hills promote air circulation. Ripening is mid to late, cool nights preserve freshness in the whites; autumn rain can complicate harvest.
TOPOGRAPHY · gentle
Gently rolling hill country with bastide towns and hamlets between the Garonne and the Dordogne, at elevations of about 10 to 100 metres. Vineyards are scattered over plateaus and shallow slopes; the landscape is open and less steep than along the riverbanks.
