Climate, site & wine
Marl, calcareous clays and sands alternate across the hills. The moderate soils give Moscato Bianco a perfumed aromatic profile, while Barbera retains fruit and acidity.
Asti and Moscato d'Asti are sweet to off-dry, with grape, peach, sage and blossom, Moscato d'Asti lightly sparkling and low in alcohol. Barbera d'Asti is juicy and high in acidity with dark cherry. Freshness and aroma define the style overall.

Continental climate with warm summers, cool nights and open, well-ventilated hills. Moscato Bianco ripens early to mid-season and retains freshness and aroma thanks to the cool nights. Fog is frequent in autumn.
TOPOGRAPHY · gentle
Wide, gentle hills around the town of Asti, with vineyards roughly between 200 and 450 metres; the higher sites towards Santo Stefano Belbo and Castiglione Tinella are considered particularly favourable for Moscato. The relief is more open than in the Langhe.
